Remote Server Setup doesn't find a 8.0.1 server installed on Fedora9, patiently "listening", though saying nothing about listening on port 8585.

The workstation, also with 7.0.1 administrator client installed, Java based window cannot ping the host, giving a "Network communication error occurred" though a command prompt can ping the new server host by ip address or host name.
